Five Things Most People Don’t Know About Mary Ann

Mary Ann played on the University of Illinois 8-ball team, representing the school in regional championships twice.

Mary Ann is a tennis geek, especially with respect to the up-and-coming (and sometimes, the down-and-failing) players who have competed in the Challenger tournaments in Champaign.

Mary Ann’s mantra is: “People are complicated.”  Every day provides more proof of the truth of this statement.

Mary Ann is an alumnus of Delta Phi Epsilon sorority, whose motto is “Esse quam videri” – to be, rather than seem to be.

Mary Ann’s Papillon-mix dog, Bruiser, thinks she is perfect. He thinks everyone else in the world (with the possible exception of Mary Ann’s husband and mother) is intent on murdering them.

Mary Ann has been trying to learn to speak French since her 52nd birthday. “I really wish I had thought of this when I was younger.”
