In his practice, Carl Webber emphasizes the areas of commercial and real estate law, as well as commercial litigation, real estate litigation and real estate tax appeals. In addition, he has been active in the areas of estate planning and special needs trusts. His work in business development includes the construction of both electrical power and alternative energy facilities.
Professional Experience
Mr. Webber's experience in commercial law covers a broad range of business development and business organizations, from local business to regional and national manufacturing and sales. Mr. Webber has been involved in international issues relating to conflicts of law and corporate litigation in foreign courts. Mr. Webber is involved in a broad range of urban planning and zoning issues, from those concerning individual lots and shopping centers to electric power generating facilities.

Teaching
Mr. Webber served as an Adjunct Professor at the University Of Illinois College Of Commerce in the office of Real Estate Research teaching the course on Real Estate Law, Finance 369, from 1987 to 1990. He also has experience teaching business courses in the evening division of the Glenbrook High Schools in Glenview, Illinois lecturing in continuing education programs relating to real estate issues, co-hosting a seminar on environmental law and lecturing to real estate organizations. He has also been a speaker at meetings sponsored by the Illinois Association of Realtors.
Bar Admissions
Mr. Webber is admitted to practice in Illinois Trial and Appellate Courts as well as the federal courts in the Central District of Illinois, the Northern District of Illinois (a member of the Trial Bar) and the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals.
Professional Activities
Mr. Webber is a past President and member of the Champaign County Bar Association, and is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association, the Seventh Circuit Bar Association, the American Bar Association, and the Bar Association of the Central and Southern Federal Districts of Illinois. He is a Charter Member and Fellow of the Illinois Bar Foundation and a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation. Mr. Webber is also a member of the Illinois Real Estate Lawyers Association; a former Adjunct Professor at the University of Illinois, a past President of the University of Illinois Library Friends at Urbana-Champaign, a past President and member of the University of Illinois College of Law Board of Visitors and a member of the College of Law Dean’s Club and the Cribbett Society. He was awarded the designation of "Alum of the Month" in December, 1989, from the University Of Illinois College Of Law.
Civic and Philanthropic Involvement
Mr. Webber is a past Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Urbana Chamber of Commerce, and was Chair of the Economic Development Committee. He is a past President and Board Member of the Downtown Urbana Promotion Corporation and apast Board member of the Greater Champaign-Urbana Development Corporation.
He has been active in the Boy Scouts of America, having been President of Arrowhead Council (now Division) from 1991 to 1994, and President of Prairielands Council from 1997 to 1999. He is a member of the Heritage Society and was awarded the Silver Beaver Award by Prairielands Council. The Eagle class of 1999 was named in his honor.
Mr. Webber has been on the Board of Directors of the Urbana Free Library Foundation, the Art in the Park Committee of the City of Urbana, Clark-Lindsey Village retirement community, Champaign County Arts and Humanities Council and the East Central Illinois Partnership in Education.
